I’m so excited to share this with you! Shadow Dog Photography has moved, and the new location is amazing. Imagine five acres of pine forests, green open space, and an acre of securely fenced space for your pups to run. We’re located in La Grange, Wisconsin, just east of Whitewater. Surrounded by Kettle Moraine State Forest, the natural setting is breathtaking. This is a dog photographer’s dream come true!

As I write this, we’re experiencing one of the coldest days in a very long time. With a great fire roaring, I’m looking out my window, and the view just never gets old! The snow is so pretty, and the sun is shining through the trees. There isn’t a lot of wildlife moving about right now, but I’m sure as soon as it warms up I’ll see the birds and squirrels again, and I’ll watch for the deer.

One of the great benefits to being here is the backdrop. The variety is perfect, with trails and paths winding through the pine forest, and sunny, open spaces too. And another great perk? The sandy soil keeps most mud away, even after a heavy rainstorm. Set back off the road, the setting is quiet, peaceful and the only noise is your dogs happily barking when they’re running and playing in the fenced-in field.

Local Hiking Trails

La Grange is only an hour’s drive from Kenosha, and only about thirty minutes from Lake Geneva. For those who are up for an adventure and like to get out on the trails, we’re only minutes from the Ice Age Trail as well as the Nordic and John Muir trailheads. If you’re hungry after your Shadow Dog adventure, you don’t want to miss a stop at the La Grange General Store. This is a must if you want a great lunch, and you can rent bikes, skis and snowshoes too!

I’m looking forward to photo sessions with those who like to get out and hike with their pups. Truly, there is no shortage of possibilities, with the many trails here in the Kettle Moraine Forest – Southern Unit. Are you ready to get outside and experience a Shadow Dog adventure?
